While I love photography and taking pictures for others, I really enjoy photographing things that are associated with the shoot, but are just outside of the client's boundaries. This image is one of those.
Larry Shurz, and eight other American Indians graduated from Grand Canyon University on May 3, 2008. I photographed the graduates as they prepared to graduate, and when my assistant asked Larry for his name, he proudly popped up his name tag. Bam! I don't think Larry ever looked more proud.
In the end the client, BJ Communications and Grand Canyon University received the images to complete their job -- and I got a gem that makes me happy.
